English: Bori Bunder railway station was the starting station for the first passenger service in India. On Saturday, 16th April 1853, at 3:35 p.m, the first train embarked on its maiden passenger service trip from Bori Bunder to Thane. The station served for many years, until it was demolished in 1878 to make space for the upcoming Victoria Terminus (now Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus).
